Floods throw normal life out of gear in U.P, Bengal

Mirzapur/ Midnapore, Aug 26 (ANI): Floods triggered by heavy rains continued to cripple normal life in several parts of India. Major roads and highways in Uttar Pradesh’s Mirzapur district were inundated, forcing the administration to deploy boats to ferry people. A villager, Nilesh Shukla, said at least three feet of water had affected vehicular traffic in the area. Similarly, in West Bengal’ Midnapore district, floods have completely affected daily lives of the people. Locals, especially schoolchildren, have harrowing time wading through water-logged roads.
