U.S. diplomat takes stock of restoration work at Humayun’s Tomb

New Delhi, Sep 26 (AN): Assistant Secretary of State for Educational and Cultural Affairs Evan Ryan visited the Humayun’s Tomb to take a look at the restoration activities required at the site in the national capital today. During her visit of the monument that depicts Mughal architecture, Ryan expressed her elation and said that the sculpture reflects the amount of work and craftsmanship gone in its construction. The monument is the first structure built by red sandstone at large scale. The structure was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1993. Ryan, who arrived in India today, is on the first leg of her two-nation tour of India and Nepal.
