Goa’s first woman CM Shashikala Kakodkar passes away

Panaji (Goa), Oct 28 (ANI): Goa’s first woman chief minister Shashikala Kakodkar passed away on Friday at the ripe age of 81, after a prolonged illness. Kakodkar was the daughter of Goa’s first chief minister Dayanand Bandodkar. Following her father’s death in 1973, Kakodkar was sworn in as the chief minister, and held charge till April 1979, following a split in the party. Goa’s incumbent Chief Minister Laxmikant Parseka offered his condolences on Kakodhar’s death.
