SUM Hospital inferno: Chairman sent to 3-day judicial custody

Bhubaneswar, Oct 21 (ANI): Chairman of the SUM Hospital Manoj Nayak, who surrendered before the Odisha police yesterday, has been sent to three-day judicial custody in connection to the hospital inferno. Nayak was sentenced to the custody after he was produced in a lower court. At least 23 people were killed and over 100 injured after a major fire broke out at the SUM Hospital in Odisha’s capital city Bhubaneswar on Monday evening. After the accident, Union Health Minister JP Nadda, along with Minister of State (MoS) for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan took stock of the situation on Wednesday.
