West Midnapur (West Bengal), Feb 20 (ANI): Thousands of people with deep obeisance in their heart arrived at the Midnapur district of West Bengal to ceberate the 15 day Urs of Hazrat Maulana Syed Shah Murshed Ali Alquadri, commonly known as “Huzur Purnoor”and “Maula Pak” on his urs. A special train also runs from Bangladesh to Midnapore on this occasion so that people from the neighbouring country can also attend the Urs without any problems. This train service has been prevalent since 1903 and this year nearly 2130 pilgrims from Bangladesh thronged the shrine to celebrate the Urs festival. During Urs, a big fair namely Meena Bazar was also held near the holy shrine. Small stalls selling religious offerings, different kinds of sweets and flowers were visited by the faithful. The shrine has become an epitome of communal harmony by attracting people of different religious communities from all over the world. Sufi Saints have always propagated the message of spirituality and harmony for ages in India and “Huzur Purnoor” was one among them.
