Mumbai (Maharashtra), Feb 21 (ANI): People in large numbers came out of their houses early Tuesday morning to cast their votes for the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) polls. The voters will choose their candidates for 227 seats and the results for the elections will be announced on February 23. Security has been strengthened across the city in view of the polls for the richest civic body of the country with an annual budget of over Rs. 30,000 Crores . Established in 1882, the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai is India’s first municipal corporation. Besides BMC, nine other civic bodies of Maharashtra are going to polls today.
