Wanted in 23 cases, hardcore Maoist surrenders in Midnapore

Midnapore (West Bengal), Mar 23 (ANI): A hardcore Maoist rebel, wanted by security forces in about 23 cases, surrendered along with his wife in West Bengal’s Midnapore on Wednesday. Modiram Sing Sardar, is charged with the killing of a lawmaker from Jharkhand, Sunil Mahato, in 2007. Sardar surrendered before a team of local police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) along with his wife, Kabita Sing Sardar. A joint team of police and CRPF were tracing Sardar for some time. One rifle, one pistol and 9 bullets have been recovered from Sardar.
