Bihar has seen a tortoise growth in IT sector in past few years. Except for some small players, there are no footprints of IT industry in Bihar. An interesting point is that most states in our country have IT parks of their own, where incentives are given to IT companies for creating job opportunities in the state.
Lets check few examples;
- Gujarat:Â Infocity
- Kerala: Infopark and Technopark
- Andhra Pradesh: Deccan Park
- TamilNadu: International Tech Park and Tidel Park
- Karnataka: International Tech Park, Harita IT Park
- Uttar Pradesh: Awadh Park
- Odisha: Kalinga Park
The above list is by no means exhaustive. These IT parks play a very crucial role in the development the IT infrastructure in these states. They also provide incubation to start-ups and small-budget companies.
In order to attain a sustainable growth and minimize the brain drain from Bihar, we need at least one IT park in the state with facilities at par of the various IT parks in the country.
We propose the name InfoLand (or Gautam Buddha Park)Â for this and we recommend it to be set up on the outskirts of Patna.
Infoland should at least have the following
- Scalable office Infrastructure (at least 40,000 Sq. Ft.).
- Earthquake Resistant Infrastructure.
- OFC and Structured Cabling Network.
- 100% Power Backup Support.
- 24 hour uninterrupted water supply.
- Security – Access Control and Electronic Surveillance.
- Large Capacity, High Speed Passenger and Service Lifts.
- Amenities – Multi-Cuisine Food Courts, Banks and ATM’s, Retail Outlets, Business Center, etc.
- Ample Parking Space.
The IT Parks in other states have been developed mainly by State Governments with active cooperation from private organizations.
We invite cooperation from various organizations, professionals, Government bodies and the public for creating an environment for this. We need to emphasize this need to the Government and get it added to the next bill in Assembly Session. We invite ample discussion on this issue and anyone willing to contribute is free to participate in it.
Let’s make Bihar an IT Hub!!
I may be of use in rendering free /paid consultancy services in promoting IT national level parks in Bihar. I am currently out of my mother land, Patna, since 2009 and till now. Â I want to be back to Bihar and to keep working in IT.
I understand several road block due to which IT Industry with players like INFOSYS, TCS, MICROSOFT, ETC may not be fully functional in next 3-6 years due to lack of minimum requirement of IT Clients of the above said companies.
1. Bihar needs to develop at least 3/6 lanes roads from IT ParK to other main points of the city.
These points should be at leastÂ
An international air port  in the radial area of 20 KM.
A near by Bus Stand
A near by underground metro or secured over group and congession free Indian Railway dedicated for IT Staff’s day to day office commute
2. Minimum number of BIHAR BAND and any hinsa. To be countive, not more than 4 BIHAR or city bundd in a year. Hartaal is the biggest enimy of  IT Industry
3. Others which I can not write, right now due to lack of time.
Of course, I want to come back to Bihar, being a bihari, but I don’t see a real near possibility ; at least for next 4 years.
thanks

Dear Prem
We fully applaud your ideas and hope those days are not far away when our Bihar will have a comprehensive IT infrastructure.
We are expecting Infy to begin its operation soon at Bihta.
Thanks

this is necessary to open IT company in bihar, bcoz there r many engg clg n state ,but there is no job 4 that student who pass thier btech course.
that’s really agreat news….if that will complete…all biharis realy will be so happy..and i appreciate to the our govt. better job… and works towards that…
but i want to move your attention on some point—
if IT park will function..that will create the jobs. and stop migration.
but our GOVT should devolope other cities also like purnea, gaya bhagalpur. ..etc besides patna .but our govt works only on patna..that will never devolope our state entirely and homogeniously..we see
every devoloped state have minimum 3 to 4 tear 2 ( metropoliton/sub metropolition) cities…but everybody know bihar have only patna like that cities..
so have humble request to our chief minister PLEASE estblise some good organisation and invest in other cities also …that will reflect our biharis shine on worlds mirror as well in india..
