Patna: Bihar is again on the national radar, this time for hosting the first ever national conference on Women Imaging, Infertility and Oncology organized by Federation of Women Imaging, Infertility and Oncology ( FWIIO). It will be attended by over 500 radiologists, oncologists and gynaecologists from India and abroad. The conference will be organized on October 1-2, 2011.
It will be inaugurated by Bihar CM, Mr. Nitish Kumar.
According to Dr G N Singh, organizing secretary of the conference, women imaging is a new speciality related to cancer and osteoporosis among women. Mammography, ultrasound and digital imaging, Dexa Scan, CT Scan and Magnetic Resonance Imaging are the methods used for the purpose of treatment.
The conference would focus on different topics related to use of ultrasound and MRI in antenatal pregnancy, recurrent pregnancy loss, cervical elastography, nuchal translucency and early anomaly scan, post-menopausal bleeding, foetal MRI, role of PET-CT in breast cancer evaluation, obstetrical ultrasound, genital tuberculosis, ovarian tumours, osteoporosis, female infertility, nuclear medicine and uterine artery embolization.
