Dusshera might be the Festival of Hindus, but in Patna, Bihar it is Muslims who make the effigy of Ravana, Kumbhakarna and Meghnada for immolation.
They have  been making it for the past 56 years,ever since the DDusshera was publicly organised at Gandhi Maidan Patna.
Zafar Alam and his team have made  65ft tall effigy of Ravana while Kumbhkarna and Meghnad are 60ft and 55 ft tall respectively.
Zafar Alam has inherited  this art from his father who also used to make effigies for immolation on Dusshera.
Presenting an example of Communal harmony, Zafar and team have been making it for the past 30 years. This time he has used over 2000 crackers in the effigy of Ravana so that the bursting sound reaches  till the periphery of Patna City.
Dusshera Ceremony was attended by Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, Governor Devanand Kunwar and  other important people.
