Rathin Basu, the CEO of French Power Equipment maker Alstom India, was rescued after being kidnapped Friday night by the joint action of Noida and Meerut Police.
He was kidnapped on Friday evening at 7:50 PM along with his driver at Sectro 66 Noida. He was returning home in his Car  and his car had gone barely a kilometer-and-a-half from his office when a WagonR suddenly rammed into it from behind.
Irritated Basu and his driver stepped out to check the reason when he was caught in the trap of kidnappers. They were blindfolded and taken to Meerut.
Strangely, the abductors didnot make any ransom calls, but they allowed asu to make a phone call to his family. Police was already informed, and the phone call proved to be a killer for the abductors. Police were able to trace that it was made from Civil Lines area, Meerut.
The Cops started their Search  operation and by 3 AM, they spotted a suspicious vehicle.  A little more trace brought them to the house where the two were being held. After a brief exchange of fire, cops were able to rescue Basu and his driver.
Three of the Abductors have been arrested while Police is hunting for two others and the Mastermind who happens to be a Garment Shop Owner.
The entire operation was conducted jointly by the cops from Noida and Meerut. We have arrested three men and registered an FIR under section 364 in Noida. In Meerut, the accused have been booked under sections 147, 148, 149, 307 and 506,” said Preetender Singh, SSP, Gautam Budh Nagar, Noida.
