Vijaya Gadde is the new General Counsel ( Legal Chief) of Microblogging Website Twitter. She would replace Alexander Macgillivray, who has been holding this post since 2009.  Vijaya Gadde has been managing the company’s corporate and international legal work. Gadde is a former senior director in Juniper Networks Inc’s legal department. Gadde has deep experience in corporate and securities law, while Macgillivray’s specialty is intellectual property.

A Person of Indian Origin, Vijaya, did her  BS in Industrial and Labour Relations from Cornell University,  and took a  law degree from New York University’s law school. Later she  joined Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati law firm as an associate.

Gadde’s appointment as Twitter’s general counsel post comes at a crucial juncture when the San Francisco-based company is in the process of going public next year.
