New Delhi: The Election Commission of India has issued 73000 Postal Ballots to be cast by Government Officials on Poll duty during Delhi Assembly Elections. The Last date for Casting Votes in December 2 and more than 40000 voters have cast their votes till November 30.
This year saw a record voting by government officials through postal ballot as compared to 1,600 people in the 2008 Assembly elections.
Of the government officials, more than 25,220 civil defence personnel and 6,070 policemen have cast their votes since November 24 when the postal ballot process began.
The entire proceedings have been videographed, says Ankur Garg chief nodal officer at the Delhi election office.
