75 Sri Lankan Tourists asked to Leave India over Security Grounds

A group of 75 Tourists from  Sri Lanka was advised and sent back from the middle of Trip in South India because  Government was worried over their  Security due to rising Anti Sri Lanka Sentiments  in the region.

The group who were on a pilgrimage to Velankanni in Tamil Nadu were advised by police to return due to rising anti-Sri Lankan sentiment, the Daily Mirror and Sunday Times said.

Last week, a gang attacked the SriLankan Airlines office in Chennai. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalitha axed the 20th Asian Athletics Championship as it would include a team from Sri Lanka.

India is likely to support a US resolution at the UNHRC calling on the Sri Lankan government to brush up its human rights record and improve reconciliation.
