Police charge human rights activist for aiding Maoists

Bastar (Chhattisgarh), Dec 30 (ANI): Police in Chhattisgarh charged a human rights activist for allegedly exchanging huge amount of banned currency notes with new bills on behalf of the Maoists after they received a complaint against her. According to police, Shalini Gera and her friends also instigated villagers against the police and state government in Bastar district. Superintendent of police in Bastar district, R. N. Das, said that he received a complaint that Gera met a top Maoist leader and exchanged money. Das said investigation was underway to ascertain the truth.
