ITAHARI: Security has been tightened at the Nepal-India border in view of the State Assembly elections taking place tomorrow in Bihar State, India.
Nepali and Indian security officials have tightened security checks at the border transit points in districts sharing border with Bihar State of India.
Security bodies of both countries have been carrying out intensive security checking at the transit points in Morang, Sunsari, Saptari and Siraha districts of Nepal at the initiatives of the officials of the Indian Seema Surakshya Bal (SSB) and the Armed Police Force (APF) of Nepal.
The security officials are carrying out thorough search on vehicles and people passing to and from the transit points. Similarly, border patrols have been intensified to check arms smuggling and prevent cross-border criminal activities.
As agreed in the joint meeting of local administrations of the two countries held on September 24, the Nepal-India border will be sealed from the morning tomorrow.
