PATNA: Nobel laureate Dr R K Pachauri would deliver inaugural lecture at the fourth Bihar Science Conference, 2011, scheduled to be held at L S College, Muzaffarpur, from February 11-13.
BBrains Society chairman Bibhuti Bikramaditya said that Pachauri’s contribution to the world as head of the powerful intergovernmental panel on climate change (IPCC) on a wide array of issues related to environment, including the much talked about global warming and climate change, is well known. He said that Pachauri’s innovative and visionary experimentations as environmentalist may find meaningful expression during his visit to the state.
He said that this initiative of bringing Bihar science on track and facilitating research in the state has been taken by BBrains Scholastic Centre (under BBrains Development Society) which had earlier organized three consecutive conferences in 2008, 2009 and 2010 at Patna Science College, College of Commerce and Gaya College, Gaya.
He said that CM Nitish Kumar, who has inaugurated the past Bihar science conferences, would be invited as chief guest at the inaugural function. He said that the three-day affair would have oral and poster presentation covering areas of physical sciences, chemical sciences, biological sciences, earth sciences, electronics and information technology, mathematical sciences, medical sciences, water resource management and clinical psychology.
He said that apart from young scientists award in different subjects, the society is also planning to give `Scientist of the Year Award’ to those scientists of Bihar who contributed in science inventions and innovation in science and technology.
