PATNA: Bihar Government today desided to increase by six per cent from 45 per cent to 51 per cent dearness allowance of its over 4.5 lakh employees as well as pensioners with effect from January 1, 2011.
A decision to this effect was taken at the meeting of state cabinet presided over by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
Talking to reporters after cabinet meeting, state cabinet coordination department additional secretary Upendra Kumar said the increase would entail Rs 225.5 crore to the state exchequer.
