The Central University of Bihar would hold its first ever convocation today. It would be presided by Hon. Vice President of India Dr. Hamid Ansari and would be attended by notable people like Nitish Kumar, Chief Minister of Bihar and Meera Kumar, the Speaker of Lok Sabha.
156 students of the University, who post-graduated during 2009-11, 2010-12 and 2011-13 shall be awarded degrees during the Convocation. The Toppers of the three batches would also be provided with Gold Medals.
The Convocation would start at 11 AM a would be live webcast through its website www.cub.ac.in from 10AM to 1200 hours.
The Venue of the Convocation is the Auditorium of BIT Patna. The University presently functions from a temporary campus inside BIT Patna.
CUB is one of the 16 Central Universities established under Central Universities Act 2009 by Government of India. The University is planning a permanent campus at Gaya where a 300 Acre land has been identified.
