Patna, May 30 (PTI) Flood control measures in north Bihar districts are almost complete with special thrust being given on strengthening embankments and taking up anti-erosion work, keeping in mind the deluge caused by the river Kosi in 2008.
Bihar Minister for Water Resources Development Bijendra Prasad Yadav told PTI here today that the majority of the Rs 400 crore schemes aimed at strengthening embankments and anti-erosion work in the basins of Kosi, Gandak, Bagamati, Burhi Gandak, Ganga and Adhwarha group of rivers had been completed on war footing before the advent of the monsoon, which usually enters Bihar in the second week of June.
Yadav has convened a meeting of the chief engineers of various divisions here tomorrow to review the flood control measures undertaken by the department as they should be complete by May 31.
