Red Cross volunteers distribute blankets in Bihar

PATNA: With the cold wave sweeping the state, blanket donors are responding to the appeal of the Indian Red Cross Society, Bihar, and coming forward generously to donate.

Due to their help, the Red Cross volunteers moved around several mohallas of Patna with blankets in their hand to give cover to those pavement dwellers who had virtually nothing between their body and the open sky in the midnight of January 1.

The volunteers’ team, headed by chairman, relief and disaster cell, Dr A A Hai, distributed blankets at Collectorate Ghat, Gandhi Maidan roundabout, Dariyapur, Gola Road, Nayatola, Bahadurpur Gumti, Moinul Haque Stadium and Karbigahiya localities, according to an IRCS communique issued here on Sunday.
