Patna: Deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi said on Friday that the Bihar Foundation will organize a two-day meet of the NRIs of Bihar origin and achiever-Biharis living in other states here next year, beginning February 18.
The decision in this regard was taken at a meeting of the Foundation Executive Committee whose president Modi is. The other participants from the committee were development commissioner K C Saha, principal secretary, industries, C K Mishra, planning and development department principal secretary Vijay Prakash and Foundation CEO K P Ramaiah.
Modi said the date of the meet has been announced in advance to provide ample time to the NRI and other participants to fix their schedules and prepare their itineraries. He also said that Global Meet for Resurgent Bihar was organized in 2006.
It was also decided that various chapters of the Foundation would also celebrate the Bihar Diwas on March 22 as the functions would be held all through the year with all fanfare. The Foundation chapters were active both within the country and abroad, as the Biharis are settled in significant numbers in all parts of the world. Head of the Qatar chapter of the Foundation Shakeel Ahmed said that a delegation of 15 students from Qatar would participate in the Bihar Diwas function.
