To meet its requirement of electricity for laboratories and class rooms and ensure uninterrupted supply, a university in Haryana plans to generate 500 KW electricity through solar devices installed on its buildings, its vice chancellor said Saturday.
Murthal-based Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology Vice Chancellor H.S. Chahal said solar energy was being utilised for street lights and heating water in the hostels.
He said that now solar energy generated on the university campus will be utilized to supply power to laboratories and classrooms.
