Shimla: Seven leprosy patients exercised their franchise at a special polling booth in Himachal Pradesh  yesterday.
“A special polling station was set up for the leprosy patients near Dharampur town in Solan district,” state’s Additional Chief Electoral Officer P.L. Negi told IANS here.
He said the polling station, only in the state, was meant for the 11 patients admitted to the Leprosy Hospital.
The oldest leprosy patients who cast votes were Brij Lal and Jubbal Singh, both aged 76.
Negi said leprosy patients exercised their franchise at general polling stations too.
Is there “Right to Vote” for leprosy affected persond in Maharashta, India?
If, NO, what are the reasons?
Is any NGO fighting for thrir rights?
Thanks,
