Kolkata: Highlighting the history of cultural exchange between India and Japan, a week-long exhibition of rare photographs will begin here on Deccember 8.
Organised by the Consulate-General of Japan in Kolkata, the exhibition is a result of a collaboration between the Japan Foundation and Paschimbanga Bangla Akademi, according to a media release by the Japanese Consulate.
Showcasing 60 photographs from the Meiji period (1868-1912) to modern times, the event commemorates the 60th Anniversary of Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Japan and India.
The exhibition, concluding Dec 15, will be inaugurated by Consul General of Japan in Kolkata, Mitsuo Kawaguchi Dec 7 at the Rabindra Okakura Bhawan here.
