Patna: Taking a step ahead towards the Fight with Cancer, the Government of Bihar has decided to establish two new Cancer Treatment Centers in the State.
The First one, called State Cancer Institute, would come up at IGIMS Patna. Government has already allotted a Budget of Rs 120 Crores for this Institute.
The Second one, called Cancer Care Center would come up at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital,(JLNMCH), Bhagalpur. The Budgetary allocation for this is Rs. 45 Crores.
The Entire project is jointly funded by State Government and Central Government, with Central Government bearing 75% of Expenditure.
This was announced by Sanjay Kumar, Executive Director of State Health Society Bihar, while addressing a Workshop on Role of Media in Tobacco Control Programme, at Patna on November 7.
