Union Law Minister, Ravi Shankar Prasad speaking at a press conference said that the days of favouritism and lobbying are now over. He said instructions were given to officers that one needed to work with courage.
Ravi Shankar Prasad said decisions by the government will be taken on merits. He said the government was against any kind of favouritism. While he said he wanted officers to work in a transparent manner, he added they needed to be courageous.
He said he will review BSNL and MTNL He expressed dismay at the fact that over the past two years they were not given priority. He said he had asked them to better services for greater consumer satisfaction.
He said he will play a proactive role in monitoring BSNL and MTNL.
Ravi Shankar Prasad elaborated upon the plan he had in mind.
