In a surprise move, Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday fielded its young leader Nupur Sharma against AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal in New Delhi seat, where he claimed a thumping win over three-time Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dixit last year, while Krishna Tirath was nominated for Patel Nagar seat in its first list of 62 candidates for the Delhi assembly polls.
Welcoming the decision, Sharma vowed to bring favourable changes in New Delhi constituency. She also vowed to pull out all the stops to win the assembly polls.
Nupur is merely 30 years old and had fought her last elections in college where she was elected President of Delhi University Students Union.
She is a graduate of London School of Economics graduate and an advocate by profession. She also holds a from Konrad Adenauer School for Young Politician, Berlin.
She has been active in the national politics since 2010.
