The cast and crew of upcoming movie ‘Nanak Shah Fakir’, amid many controversies, released its music in the national capital recently. The movie is based on the life and teachings of the founder of Sikhism, Guru Nanak Dev and propagates a larger universal message of harmony.
Present at the event were many eminent personalities from the music industry like Pandit Jasraj, A.R. Rahman, Kailash Kher, Uttam Sing, Tuomas Kantelinen, Bhai Nirmal Singh, Harshdeep and Ishwanik Kaur and they all have also lend their voices for a track ‘Nanak Aaya’.
The movie, which has garnered a lot of appreciation at the Cannes Film Festival and Sikh Film Festivals at Toronto and Los Angeles, is receiving a lot of criticism back home, in India. The makers have used high-end computer graphics to depict Guru Nanak Dev from the back and amidst a ray of light. ‘Nanak Shah Fair’ is slated for release on 17th April 2015.
