Nitish Kumar donates one Month’s Salary for Earthquake Victims

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has donated a month’s salary for the Earthquake Victims in Bihar. According to reports, he donated Rs. 1 Lakh to Chief Minister Relief Fund after returning from a visit from Earthquake affected areas in the state.

He also urged other Politicians, his Cabinet Colleagues and Businessmen of the state to follow his footsteps and donate generously to the fund.

He also warned people of the state to make earthquake resistant buildings and cited the example of Japan where majority of buildings can withstand tremors easily.

Later he went to see the progress of relief materials being sent to quake hit Nepal. He also flagged off relief material ladden trucks to various parts of Bihar and Nepal.

Kumar said that the state government was extending all assistance to people coming from Nepal in the state. Around 80,000 people have reportedly come from Nepal to Bihar in search of shelter and refuge.

According to reports, more than 34,000 people have reached Raxaul on Indo-Nepal border from quake-ravaged Himalayan nation during the last four days and they were being provided food, drinking water and medical facilities at relief camp. Indian government has made a camp in Raxaul which is looking after the safe return of Indians from Nepal.
