New Delhi/ Nagpur, June 21 (ANI): While the whole country was practicing yoga as part of the International Yoga Day, the prisoners in India were not left behind too.
Prison inmates in Tihar jail, in national capital and, another one in Nagpur city, practiced yoga on Sunday. The initiative at Tihar was organised by prison authorities in collaboration with the Panchawati Yogashram, an institute which provides training in yoga.
Swami Ashutosh of the Panchawati Yogashram, who gave yoga lessons to the inmates, said that the inmates, after being trained in yoga, would be awarded certificates as yoga instructors and later employed by the institute itself once they complete their prison term.
The inmates in one of jails in Maharashtra too underwent yoga sessions and the event was attended by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Fadnavis said that that the inmates found the experience rewarding and fulfilling.
