A lot of people across social media have been campaigning to boycott Red Label Tea, which is marketed by Hindustan Unilever Ltd. Users are particularly fumed by one TV commercial ad, which shows Hindus as intolerant and in bad light.
Users complain that it’s only a particular community, which is targeted by these multinational companies. It’s part of a planned campaign to denigrate our religion and brand us “intolerant”.
Red Label is a brand formerly owned by American company Brooke Bond. It was later acquired by Unilever. It sources its tea from the estates of Upper Assam, Darjeeling and Tripura.
