A Plus-II student of DAV School, BSEB Colony, Saumya, and another girl Ruchi Kumari of Munger, have been selected to participate in the Global Young Leaders’ Conference to be held in the United State from July 11 to 22.
According to Saumya she appeared in test in Kolkata in Janauary last and scored good marks. The Fonference would be attended by youths from 100 countries from across the world. It is organized by the Congressional Youth Leadership Council, a voluntary organization
Saumya said that her participation would give her an opportunity to learn social and economic lessons from the past. She said that she would take part in the debate on the present policies.
Saumya and Ruchi would attend different sessions. The sessions are to be held in Washington DC and New York. They include leadership group meeting, lectures on stable global economy, visit of embassies including a briefing at the US department of State, visit to memorials and museums, lectures on human rights and international law. A visit to the United Nations headquarters is among the important activities.
