PM Modi lays foundation stone for Char Dham Highway Development Programme

Dehradun, Uttarakhand, Dec 27 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday laid the foundation stone of the Char Dham Highway Development Programme at the Parade Ground in Uttarakhand capital Dehradun. Under the project estimated at Rs.12,000 crores, the government aims to build a 900-kilometre-long highway to connect shrines located at Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath. Under this initiative, roads will be widened, bypasses, tunnels, bridges and elevated corridors will be constructed which will in turn protect landslide hazard zones.
