Gaya residents organise medical camp in Maoist-affected areas

Residents in the Gaya region of Bihar organised a free health check up camp to help the people in the Maoist affected region on Sunday.

The camp witnessed the participation of thousands of poor people from different villages.

“This is a Naxal (Maoist) affected area, and because of that, common people face a lot of difficulties.

That is why we have organised this medical camp. They are poor people and live in the Naxal-affected area. Keeping these things in mind, we organise this,” said Arvind Kumar, one of the organisers of the camp.

Doctors at the camp said they had come to help the poor.

“For a doctor, the area does not matter. For us, all the people are equal. We want to relief our patients of their pains and treat them. Even the atmosphere is normal here. So, we don’t feel any fear in this area,” said Dr. Kiran Kumari, a physician.

The lack of proper medical facilities makes life for commoners very difficult. Villagers have to travel miles to avail medical facilities. (ANI)
