Patna boy selected for NASA award

PATNA: Patna boy Saikat Guha to have been selected for the NASA Tech Brief Award in recognition of his contribution to the National Space Programme and to the mission of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, US.

Guha, presently employed as a scientist at the US-based B B M Technology has been selected for this award by the NASA Inventions and Contributions Board chairman for his work on Phase-conjugate receiver for Gaussian-state quantum illumination. He will receive a certification of recognition besides a cash award.

Saikat, who is son of Aryabhat Knowledge University vice-chancellor and Patna Science College former principal S N Guha, did his MS and PhD from MIT, US. His work on quantum computation has been highly acknowledged in the scientific circles. He would be addressing an international conference on this subject being held at Brisbane (Australia) on Monday.
