PATNA: Patna police conducted raids in Patna, Lakhisarai, Vaishali, Gaya and Jamui districts and busted a gang of teenaged vehicle lifters.
Patna SSP Amit Kumar Jain on Wednesday said six members of the gang were arrested following raids on July 6 and 7. Police also recovered 15 stolen motorcycles and one Maruti car at Patna.
Jain said the arrested criminals have been identified as Dharmendra Kumar, Dilip Kumar, Pankaj Kumar, Ashish Kumar, Sitaram Singh and Vinay Kumar. All teenagers, they confessed their involvement in stealing at least 100 motorcycles from the state capital, the SSP said.
He said individual members of the gang were entrusted with separate tasks, including punching fake number plates, making fake documents and transporting and receiving the vehicles. Raids are on to nab other members of the gang, he added.
