PATNA: In a bold step, the Bihar cabinet on Friday decided to abolish the legislators annual fund of Rs.1 crore, officials said.
“The cabinet has decided in principle to abolish the legislators ‘fund, popularly known as MLAs’ Fund ,” Cabinet Secretary Afzal Amanullah told media persons here after a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
The money was supposed to be utilised for development projects.
Early this week, Nitish Kumar mooted the abolition of the fund, saying it was being misused.
