Madhubani painting adorns TCS walls

Artwork with Lucknow theme adorns TCS walls

In its initiative of upholding the heritage of the city, the Lucknow unit of Tata Consultancy Services has come up with a gallery of paintings that depict different facets of the city. Artistes were commissioned over a period of two years to paint pictures of various areas and monuments of the city that comprise its heritage zone, while a collage in Madhubani style has been painted across a panel in the reception area by artistes all the way from Bihar.

“It is the largest artwork on Awadh,” says Jayant Krishna, head of TCS, Lucknow, about the composite design that etches various figures and objects that symbolise the city, from courtesans to cockfights, Nawab Wajid Ali Shah and the fish that adorn the arched entrance of most of the monum-ents.

It was unveiled on Thursday by multi-talented film-maker Muzaffar Ali, an artist in his own right.
