PATNA: Of late, the sale of fast moving consumer goods ( FMCG) has significantly increased in Bihar. The growth is propelled by growing purchasing power of people across the state.
“The year 2010 saw Bihar witness a 37% growth in the sale of our products, making it one of the fastest growing states in eastern India. With this, Bihar now accounts for 13% of our entire sale in eastern India,” said vice president, Amway India, Diptarag Bhattacharjee, here on Thursday. Home delivery in Bihar contributes around 30% of the total annual sale of the state.
Amway India has decided to spruce up its home delivery structure further. “We will improve our infrastructure in north-east Bihar which would ensure better reach and fast delivery to the high potential districts of north and north-east Bihar, including Katihar, Purnia, Ara, Madhepura, Kishanganj and Samastipur districts,” Bhattacharjee told reporters here.
