Bihar sets up special court for power theft cases

PATNA: At least 682 cases pertaining to supply and theft of power have been transferred to special courts, created at Patna, Gaya and Muzaffarpur for conducting speedy trial of such offences.

Kamaldeo Singh helms the Patna court which has so far disposed of nine cases. Bihar State Electricity Board received Rs 7.05 lakh in these cases, said board’s director (PR) H R Pandey. WhileRajkishore Singh has been made the judge at Gaya special court, the special Court at Muzaffarpur is likely to become functional soon.
