PATNA: The railways has launched a new magazine, Rail Bandhu, on the pattern of Air India and Indian Airlines’ magazines, for passengers travelling by its premier Rajdhani, Shatabdi and Duronto trains across the country.
According to a Railway Board official, the monthly magazine is meant for free distribution among passengers journeying by these trains. To start with, 50,000 copies of the inaugural issue have been published. However, the number of copies would be increased in future for its distribution in every zone of railways.
“The magazine is of 60 pages, of which 30 contain news items,” the official said and added the inaugural issue features interesting articles about Rabindranath Tagore, Ruskin Bond stories and success stories of railways’ sportspersons. “The magazine will provide a variety of interesting and informative stories about development and achievements of Indian Railways at the country level,” he said.
