Bihar to preserve the Gandhi Neem Tree

By Bihar Reporter On 5 Jan, 2012 At 03:10 PM | Categorized As Bihar, Nation, Tourism | With 0 Comments

Bihar Government is planning to develop Gandhi Circuit in East Champaran and in an associated attempt,  it has decided to preserve and conserve a Neem  Tree associated with Mahatma Gandhi.  In the first step, the area around the tree would be fenced and the surroundings would be beautified to attract tourists.

The tree is important because it was under it that Mahatma Gandhi used to spend hours talking to farmers in Champaran and discussing  strategies for Independence. It is located at Turkaulia near Motihari.

Local people have a great importance to this tree popularly known as Gandhi ka Neem. “It is welcome that Government has taken to preserve it”, quotes a resident.  ”Generations  after Generations would be able to see the historic tree symbolic of Indian Independance “
