Anna Hazare today met Chief Election Commissioner SY Qureshi along with other IAC members. Anna was accompanied by Arvind Kejriwal, Santosh Hegde, Prashant Bhushan and Kiran Bedi.
The right to reject debate may get rekindled as Team Anna has decided to include the issue on their campaign.
Team Anna wants inclusion of ‘Right to Reject’ button in the EVM machines.
As per the current practice if voters don’t like the candidates, voters can record
their disapproval by entering their names into 17 A register available with the polling official under Rule 49-0. However at most polling booths even election officials largely remain unaware of the procedure when voters ask for this.
Due to this, team Anna wants inclusion of Right to Reject button in the EVM machines.
