Patna: The Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation (BSTDC) has halted the regular AC Bus Service for Rajgir and Bodhgaya from Patna due to very less number of passengers.
The service which was started a month before could not draw enough number of passengers and was running under severe losses.
The 35 Seater AC Bus used to ply along Patna Bodhgaya route via Rajgir. A one-way fare to Bodhgaya was Rs 200 which is much less than the AC train fare from Patna to Gaya.
This service was run by BSTDC. Another AC Bus Service is being run by a private operator in association with BSRTC connecting Patna, Gaya, Sitamarhi,Muzaffarpur, Jamshedpur and Ranchi.
BSTDC officials accept that the timing of introduction of these buses went wrong and being new service many weren’t aware about this service. They plan to restart the service during peak tourist season between October-March
