Doctors treating Abdul Karim Tunda at AIIMS New Delhi have implanted Pacemaker in this heart. The angiography procedure conducted on Friday revealed blockages in vessels in his heart and doctors decided to implant a pacemaker to manage his condition.
To enable this whole procedure, the Metropolitan Magistrate Ashok Kumar visited the Intensive Coronary Care Unit (ICCU) at AIIMS and remanded him into a special custody. A Permission from his lawyer MS Khan was taken before conducting the surgery. The Surgery was conducted on Saturday 3 PM.

Till late Friday night, doctors were contemplating which would be the appropriate surgical intervention, and finally decided to first implant a temporary pacemaker through his leg, and later after taking due consent, a permanent pacemaker was implanted in the cath lab.
The arrest of  70 Year Old Abdul Karim Tunda has proved to be a major success in Indian Anti-terrorism operation as Tunda has provided several valuable information about the working of Terrorist Organizations against India. His statements have confirmed several allegations which India had been making upon Pakistan for several years and can prove to be an important weapon in the Diplomatic Battle with Pakistan.
He was associated with the Fake Indian Currency Racket and his house in Pakistan served as the base camp for dispatch of fake Indian Currency notes to India.
According to Investigators, he worked closely with Dawood Ibrahim, Hafiz Saeed and Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi.
He also holds a grudge against Lashkar-e-Toiba commander Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi for scuttling his chances of reaching the top position in the outfit despite being the “architect” of its pan-India structure, which was earlier confined to Kashmir.
He says that Lakhvi, who is the mastermind of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, made sure that Tunda remains on the fringes of the organisation. He said Lakhvi did not allow him to come into the decision making body.
He revealed that he was sidelined by the top LeT leadership ahead of the 26/11 attacks after his spat with Lakhvi over financial issues.  He was merely informed about the happenings of the Mumbai attack by Jama’at-ud-Da’wah chief Hafiz Saeed who had instructed him to concentrate on Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) into India.
Tunda is known as the bomb expert in the LeT circle and played a major role in 1993 Bombay serial blasts, Delhi bomb blasts of 1997-98 and serial bombings in Uttar Pradesh and also at Panipat, Sonepat, Ludhiana, Hyderabad etc.
He had trained indoctrinated youngsters in preparing bombs with locally available materials like urea, nitric acid, potassium chloride, nitrobenzene and sugar, and planting them at crowded places to cause maximum casualties.
He revealed how he and Dr Jalees Ansari collaborated with LeT to set off a series of explosions in Mumbai and Hyderabad in 1993.
