The decks for new campus of Aryabhatta Knowledge University Patna has been cleared. Â The State Cabinet today approved a fund of Rs 94,97,73,000 for the construction of its campus. It also allotted Rs 28 Crores for meeting present expenses of the University. The Cabinet meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
The University presently functions at a makeshift campus inside Chanakya National Law University, Mithapur Patna .
Aryabhatta Knowledge University (AKU), Patna was established in 2008 by Government of Bihar for the development and management of educational infrastructure related to technical, medical, management and allied professional education in the state.
It is the only Professional University in the State.  AKU currently has six medical colleges, eight government engineering colleges and nine private engineering colleges among others under its affiliation and nearly 14,000 students are registered with it.
