Various agencies involved in the Rescue operations at flood affected areas of Bihar have speeded up their work. An official release says that 2850 Rescue Boats have been put into operation at various flood hit places.
The State Health Department has started 306 Health Check Up Camps and 128 Veterinary Camps in the Flood affected areas. 22623 tonnes of solid food items and Rs 25 Crores of Cash has been distributed among the victims of Flood, according to a Statement released by Government. Each Family has been given Rs 1500. A total of 50,550 polythene sheets have been distributed among the flood-affected people.
2.5 Lakhs of Halogen Tablets have been distributed while 2686 KG of Bleaching Power has been sprinkled in the affected areas.
The 2013 Flood is one of the worst flood in the history of Bihar  affecting around 20 districts of the State. As many as 160 people have died and 5.4 million others affected due to floods  this year. River Ganga alone has wreaked havoc in ten districts like Patna, Bhojpur, Buxar, Saran, Bhagalpur, Katihar, Vaishali and Begusarai.
Officials say that the situation in Patna was under control . A safety wall has been created from Nasriganj to Ranighat, while 20 sluice gate and porous points at 130 places have been sealed to prevent flood-water from spreading to the state capital.
