Patna: East Central Railway has introduced free railway pass for all students upto Class 10 under various boards including BSEB CBSE and ICSE. The free passes would be valid only for unreserved second Class journey and with a valid School ID Card. These passes would be valid for one month and would have to be renewed at the end of the month.
To get free passes, a student has to apply at his/her School Principal’s Office from where the application would be forwarded to the concerned railway division/zone.
The biggest beneficiaries of this scheme would be rural students who travel daily to nearby towns for schooling.
Indian Railway already provides concession to all students including post-graduate ones, for travel between home and college/institute during vacations.
