Govt bans documentary film on beef ahead of fest, director blames ‘wrong vibes’

New Delhi, Oct 30 (ANI): The ministry of information and broadcasting has refused to clear a 21-minute film that deals with “beef-eating practices in Mumbai” for a documentary festival in Delhi. The documentary, titled Caste on the Menu Card, was the only one among the 35 sent to the I&B Ministry to be denied exemption for screening during the 12th Jeevika Asia Livelihood Documentary Festival 2015 in New Delhi, according to Centre for Civil Society (CCS). Reacting on the same, Film Festival Director Manoj Mathew blamed the wrong vibes and recent incidents over beef in the country, for the ban. Mathew has even spoken to the ministry and asked them to reconsider their decision but in vain.
